As a way to remove the memory of the yesterday’s singing from ENO, I looked for some videos on YouTube with arias from Les Pecheurs. I think Rolando Villazon has the most amazing voice in this opera from all the singers I’ve listened to so far. Here are two examples:
Villazon and Domingo in concert singing “Au fond du temple saint” and Villazon singing “Je Crois Entendre Encore”. Now that’s how it’s done!
