May 1996 joining Department of Computer Science 4 at University of Technology Aachen, Germany
March 2000 Submission of Ph.D thesis entitled Scalable Group Communication in Tightly Coupled Environments
July 11th, 2000 oral defense of Ph.D thesis
July 2000 to May 2005 with Nokia Research Boston, working as a Principal Scientist in the area of seamless and context-aware services and network infrastructures
June 2005 to March 2007 with Nokia Research Helsinki, working as a Principal Scientist in the area of seamless and context-aware services, next generation network architectures and techno-economic modeling
April 2007 to December 2009 with BT Research in Adastral Park, working as a Chief Researcher in the area of Future Internet related research with a focus on Internet architecture
since January 2010 with the Computer Laboratory at the University of Cambridge, working as a Senior Researcher in the area of Future Internet related research, specifically large-scale publish-subscribe architectures with applications in wireless sensing and information dissemination. I’m also a Visiting Scientist with the Advanced Network Architecture group at MIT CSAIL.
